Berlin Tour And Staycation 2027

8 Days June 23rd - June 30th

Another of our ‘staycation’ tours. We will guide you through the great city of Berlin.

Day 1 - Arrive in Germany at our tour hotel and enjoy a meeting with your group and guide. A brief summary of the tour will result in an enjoyable dinner together.

Day 2- After breakfast we will step into the world of emperors and archaeologists. A morning visit to Museum Island and the Humboldt Forum….. more than just places, they are time machines. After lunch we will spend the afternoon exploring Berlins Jewish past. We shall uncover the courtyards of the Spandauer Vorstadt. With their blend of Jewish heritage and quiet elegance, the courtyards offer a glimpse into the soul of the city. Also, visiting the Otto Weidt Museum, we will discover how a brave man defied Nazism. Tonight you could venture out into the music and cultural scene…Jazz perhaps ?

Day 3 - Today we’ll visit the Berlin Wall and explain how a divided city has come together. Lunch will be experienced in a GDR style restaurant with a nostalgic nod to Berlins past. In the afternoon lets take a stroll down Frankfurter Allee. Erected in the 1950s to rebuild a part of Berlin that was destroyed after the war, its a fascinating insight into Russias plain on this great city.

Day 4 - Today we visit Potsdam, a city of royal dreams and post war secrets. The palace of Sansoucci with its historic apartments and gardens await. After lunch, a visit to the Cecilienhof Palace, site of the Potsdam Conference, and a visit to the Glienicke Bridge ( the scene of spy exchanges ). Perhaps this evening you’d like to explore Berlins music scene a little more by visiting a chamber music venue in an old piano factory.

Day 5 - This morning we’lll learn a little more about Germanys reunification process as we enjoy a walking tour through Mitte. After lunch you’ll be free to sit in a leafy square enjoying coffee, is it a beer cellar or browse boutiques and antiques….the afternoon is ‘free’.

Day 6 - After breakfast we’ll pay a visit to Mauerpark to learn a little about Berlins industrial prowess, and after lunch we’ll travel west to Charlottenburg Palace, Berlins most baroque residence. Strolling through lovely gardens and splendid chambers you’ll get a chance to relive Germanys historic past.

Day 7 - Lets visit some ghostly Utahn stations and the monumental halls of Tempelhof Airport. These forgotten places don’t make it into guide books but will linger in your memories as reflections of the past. A farewell lunch will be enjoyed by the Spree River… a relaxed lunch ! Tonight we’ll enjoy a final dinner together and remember the incredible sights, sounds and people of Berlin, together.

Day 8 - After breakfast your guide will help with advice on your transportation needs.
