7 Day Brittany Staycation And Tour

This tour and staycation will give the intrepid traveller an opportunity t see the lovely coastal areas and towns of Southern Brittany. Ancient, Medieval and modern all combine to give you a taste of France that isn’t really France….. Its special !

The medieval town of Guerande, famous for its location in Brittany’s salt marshes, combined with a visit to the salt pans themselves.
A boat trip to the tiny island of Gavrinis, home to a tomb containing the most highly decorated Neolithic stones in the world
Le Petit Mont - a massive burial cairn turned into a German bunker and observation post in WW2.
A guided tour of Vannes - a gorgeous medieval and Roman market town with its own cathedral and timber framed buildings. Our home base.
The Breton Resistance Museum - tells the story of the Breton maquis vicious battle with the Germans at the time of the allied invasion in Normandy.
St Anne D’auray - a small town with huge religious attachments, a cathedral/abbey and home to a seriously heartbreaking memorial to the Breton dead of WW1. Brittany had the highest mortality rate of any region in Europe during the war.
Locmariaquer - magnificent Neolithic sites, tombs, stones and museum
Carnac - 4,500 standing stones/menhirs. Concentration of 90% of the world’s standing stones.
Rochefort en Terre- designated as one of the prettiest villages in France
Questembert - a small market town with the largest 15thC timbered market hall in France.This tour is designed in such a way that if you’d like to join us on either the Normandy Staycation or Loire Valley staycation, the dates would enable you to do so. Check our tour calendar.

This tour is for small groups (4-12), accompanied by 2 guides (for groups of more than 6), travelling in comfortable minibuses (1 or 2 depending on group size), which enable us to get into many places that big buses just can’t. They also provide us with opportunities to ‘dash’ down a country lane to explore something new and unique.… An adventure!
Included: All necessary transportation and admissions whilst you are with me. 6 nights hotel accommodation. All breakfasts, 2 lunches (picnics where I think it could enhance the trip) and 2 dinners. A tour deposit is required to reserve a place on this tour .
