Day 1 Upon arrival in our Inverness hotel…. a beautiful country house hotel, we’ll enjoy a beautiful dinner together and get to know each other.
Day 2 - This morning, after a hearty breakfast, we’ll drive over to the battlefield and museum of Culloden. Lunch will be had in the museum cafe, before a short drive over to the magnificent fortress of Fort George. Built to prevent any further royal troubles in Scotland, it stands a s a testament to mans need for peace. Free for dinner in our hotel restaurant or bar.
Day 3 - Completing our breakfast, we shall drive to the Isle of Skye. Crossing the Highlands will enable you to get your first view of Scotlands magnificent landscape. Upon arrival on Skye…. we leave it immediately :-)… we catch a ferry to the tiny island of Raasay, whereupon we shall check into our lovely hotel ;with a view; ! Dinner together in the hotel restaurant tonight.
Day 4 - Today we shall explore the island. Famous for a tiny road built upon it, we shall walk or cycle across it… your choice. At the far end of the island is an atmospheric castle, perched on the clifftops. From anywhere on the island, you’ll be looking back towards the Cuillins, the highlands of Skye. You’ll be free for dinner this evening.
Day 5 - Did I mention that there is a distillery on Raasay…its next door to our hotel!! Today we will visit it and enjoy a Scotch ‘tasting’ and lunch together. This afternoon…Relax and enjoy your idyllic surroundings. Free for dinner this evening.
Day 6 - Lets visit the iconically famous Isle of Skye. We’re going to give you an opportunity to walk…NOT a difficult hike… a gentle walk through a stunningly beautiful part of the island. We will explain the islands history… The Scottish wars, the clearances, clans and its food… You’ll also have a chance to visit Portree and have lunch. Arriving back on Raasay, you’ll be free to enjoy dinner.
Day 7 - You can have a lie in this morning….. the hotel is comfortable and the breakfast is great. Late morning will see us, once again, taking the ferry to Skye and then we drive back to Inverness over the Highlands. On the way, we shall take a look at another great castle, one that overlooks Loch Ness. Its time to spot a monster!!!. Dinner together tonight in our country house hotel, will be a delicious affair.
Day 8 - This morning is our last together. After breakfast and a walk around the gardens, we will help you with your transport needs and wish you a fond farewell.
We’ve built this entire experience around the idea of a ‘Relaxing Scottish Island Vacation’. This is a tour to relax and enjoy!
This tour is for small groups (4-12), accompanied by 2 guides (for groups of more than 6), travelling in comfortable minibuses (1 or 2 depending on group size), which enable us to get into many places that big buses just can’t. They also provide us with opportunities to ‘dash’ down a country lane to explore something new and unique.… An adventure!
