Switzerland Tour And Staycation 2027

8 Days July 3rd - July 10th

Another of our ‘staycation’ tours. We will guide you through the great country of Switzerland.

Day 1 - Our tour hotel is located in Murrenand after a tour briefing we’ll join together for a splendid evening dinner…. a great chance to get to know each other.

Day 2- After breakfast we set out to explore the famous Trummelbach Falls and witness glacial waters cascading off the mountains. On our walk towards Lautebrunnen, we’ll see grazing cows, locals o their bikes… we’ll also stop to see the Staubach Falls which has inspired writers and poets for generations. After lunch we take another route, via gondolas on express lifts, back to Murren and our pristine mountain retreat. The remainder of the afternoon/evening is free for you to relax and enjoy the mountains marvels.

Day 3 - This morning we will ascend via another express lift and gondola, up to the top of the Schilthorn. Here at 10,000 feet you will enjoy a panoramic brunch and get closer to the enigma that is James Bond:-) From here we will descend to the ‘middle station’ of Bird, where daredevils can check out the ‘Thrill Walk’ at the cliff. Onwards down to Murren where we’ll pick up supplies for a late picnic lunch the will be enjoyed in a beautiful place above the village. Eat drink and relax !

Day 4 - Today we cross the valley and head up to Wengen. From here we will take another gondola up to the Mannlichen Summit. From here our walk begins….. with sweeping views of the Eiger Massif, our path will lead us to Kleine Scheidegg and a scenic spot for lunch and a rest. After lunch you will have the option to return to the valley floor and Lautebrunnen or take a funicular to Grutschalp ignorer to enjoy more vies and perhaps another walk.

Day 5 - This morning we will leave our mountain retreat and journey by train into Interlaken, a vibrant hub between two lakes. We’ll stroll through the town after enjoying paragliders at play, ride a historic funicular (1908) up to the fabulous Harder Kulm for a light lunch with views out over both of Interlakens lakes. In the afternoon we’ll visit a traditional alphorn workshop, located in a smalll village, where we learn how these iconic instruments are crafted…. and perhaps even attempt to summon a cow ourselves. Returning to Murren, the evening s yours to enjoy.

Day 6 - Today we travel by train to Thun, a lively town with medieval charm, riverside cafes and a hilltop castle. Oe of the towns treasures is the oldest surviving panorama painting in the world…. of course its of lake Thun ! After further exploration of the tow we will board a boat and enjoy a Serengetis cruise on perhaps the prettiest lake in Europe.

Day 7 - Lets visit Bern today. Arriving by train we’ll explore the city, its history, its sights. Its a bustling and beautiful city and lunch will be found in one of its amazing cafes or restaurants…. But remember that this evening we will all meet for a final dinner together where we can chat about the extraordinary sights that we will have seen.

Day 8 - After breakfast your guide will help with advice on your transportation needs.

( This price is set at the US dollar v GB pound value on Jan 5th of each year and this is what you will be invoiced for. When paying the final balance, you will pay that amount at today’s GB pound value. You can pay in pounds or dollars )

This tour is for small groups (4-14), accompanied by 1 or 2 guides (for groups of more than 6)….. An adventure!

Included: All necessary transportation and admissions whilst you are with us. 7 nights hotel accommodation. All breakfasts, 2 lunches (additional picnics or pub lunches where we think it could enhance the trip) and 3 dinners. Tour guide tipping is discretionary. A tour deposit is required to reserve a place on this tour.
